Shimmering Installation
I had seen this years ago and completely forgotten about it until my friend Sheasy pointed it out. A room-size installation filled with strung up brightly painted ping pong balls. They put fans in the room so that it vibrates, ever-so-slightly. I think that if you could see things at a sub-atomic level, it might look something like this. Either that, or outer space. Or maybe it’s like having a seizure. No matter what it looks like to you, it’s still very impressive.

The only way that could be cooler was if they were all actually in free motion constantly, jumping from ceiling to floor, like that one commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DrFY3H-u8w, AND if people were able to walk into the room of balls in action. It would probably really hurt, but this is my fantasy so we are going to just pretend that it feels amazing.
Also, the picture with the people viewing the installation almost looks like one of those 3D stereograms and if I blur my vision enough I might see some amazing image.

I really like this. This feels a little like Yayoi Kusama’s work with polka dots.
