Security Envelope Art

Have you ever looked at the patterns inside security envelopes you get in the mail?  They come in such a gorgeous variety of colors and patterns.  I know, weird to find something good about junk mail.  I thought I’d make a little art project out of all the junk mail I finally dug through.

mailIt’s a little imperfect, but so be it.

Any paper hoarders out there have ideas for security envelope creations?  I’d love to hear them.

Felt Bouquet

feltbouquetHow fabulous are these felt flower bouquets?  The bride made them herself.  I’m seriously impressed.  I love the colors and the textures and all of the vintage elements that went into it.  Looks like it would have been a lot of work, but how original!  And those will definitely keep forever.  I might make some just for fun!

Creative Organization

I always envy those creative types to seem to have turned their work areas into an expression of their artwork.  It’s funny, there’s a group of artists out there that seem to be really organized or OCD but I sure haven’t met any of them personally.

frenchThis space is so inspiring to me.  Lots of space and storage, and it’s so organized!  I think I would like a studio that looked like this, but I also think that I’d like everything in it.  You can see more pictures here.  The blog is in French, but the pictures speak a universal language!

I always love seeing pictures of studios.  Do you have a great space you’d like to share?  I’d love to see pictures (and maybe show them off here!).  Email me at thecraftbegins[at]gmail.com if you’d like to participate.

DIY Padded Mailers

I wish I could take credit for this idea too, but no such luck!

mailersI think it’s a great way to use bits of scrap paper you have lying around, as well as finding a way to recycle all of that bubble wrap.  Plus, who doesn’t love anything that is a tiny bit interesting? No more plain jane manilla mailers for you!  And they’re super easy, so that’s also a bonus.
