Weekend

Hello everyone – are you excited for the weekend?  Do you have any fun plans?  I’m going to go look at houses today, but other than that, I’ve got nothing going.  I really wish I was going here:

frenchThis lovely little French hotel offers cooking classes and wine tastings – sign me up!  I can think of nothing better than eating and drinking in an environment like this.  Stimulating for all of your senses!

Via desire to inspire.

Lunchtime

To talk about the cultural differences in food is really an obvious comparison.  However, nowhere is it more evident than in the school lunch.  I found this great website that features school lunches from across the world: these are some of my favorite pictures.  I love how different all of the food is, but how similar the colors are in all of the pictures.  Hungry yet?

Creative Organization

I always envy those creative types to seem to have turned their work areas into an expression of their artwork.  It’s funny, there’s a group of artists out there that seem to be really organized or OCD but I sure haven’t met any of them personally.

frenchThis space is so inspiring to me.  Lots of space and storage, and it’s so organized!  I think I would like a studio that looked like this, but I also think that I’d like everything in it.  You can see more pictures here.  The blog is in French, but the pictures speak a universal language!

I always love seeing pictures of studios.  Do you have a great space you’d like to share?  I’d love to see pictures (and maybe show them off here!).  Email me at thecraftbegins[at]gmail.com if you’d like to participate.

Ethnic Portraits

Laurent Auxietre is an astounding photographer.

ethnic Wouldn’t you just love to ride off around the world, taking interesting pictures of interesting people?  His portraits exhibit a really remarkable humanity, I think.  You feel like you’re just witnessing a passing moment in their lives, instead of making them stand still and pose for a tourist photo.
