I feel like giving something away today! And I haven’t been doing much crafty stuff, so an etsy-type giveaway wouldn’t be so much fun. A lot of you readers have been sweet enough to compliment my photography, so I figure, why not give away a photograph?
Here’s the deal: leave a comment here, telling me something about the kind of pictures you like to see! It can be something you’ve seen here, something you want to see here, or something you’ve seen out in the world. Or tell me what kind of picture you’d like to take! I’ll let this run over the weekend (contest ends Sunday night, August 9th) and I’ll announce the winner on Monday! The winner will get an 8×10 photograph, of anything you’d like that I’ve taken. On the blog, on my flickr, or if there’s something you’re looking for, I’ve got a lot of photos that I haven’t posted anywhere.
So, lots of luck, thanks for stopping by, and I can’t wait to read your comments!

1. This sign makes me laugh. And it’s a really nice photograph as well. There’s lots more fun vintage goodies and awesome photographs at Doe C Doe. And hey, did you know? Cookin makes you good lookin. :)
2. I’m still not entirely sure what I would use it for, but this gorgeous cotton ribbon from Angela Liguori is too good to pass up. You could use it for bookbinding, sewing, wrapping awesome presents, or any number of things. And it comes in a variety of colors and lengths as well, so there’s sure to be something that will suit your needs.
3. As we all now know, I love little notebooks, especially when they are well made and have interesting covers and papers inside. Pretty much everything in Erin Zam’s shop fits the bill for me. Cute little notebooks, made with nerd love, and adorable prints. What more is there?
4. I’ve always appreciated the work of Rachel Austin. She has such a sweet sensibility and an awesome color palette. A lot of her work features vintage maps buried deep underneath the painting. I think that it gives it really interesting texture and depth.
5. Words cannot describe how amazing the Timeless Vixen Vintage is. They have the. most. amazing. dresses. that I have ever seen. You can just tell that the quality is astounding, and the styles are wonderful, and it’s the kind of dress that you would save all of your pennies for and wear it a few times for very special occasions and then donate it to a museum because it’s a priceless work of art. It may not be affordable for most of us but it really is some great eye candy.

This one is unabashedly girly. Sorry to my male readers (if I have any male readers – hello?).
1. What on earth could be better than 70′s wallpaper? Nothing, in fact. And Thrifty Pyg is the place to go to find it. They may not be huge pieces, so you probably wouldn’t be able to cover up the wood paneling on the rec room walls, but enough that you could make something fun. Scrapbooking, lining the inside of a medicine cabinet – oh, the possibilities!
2. Keeping with the vintage theme, I love this tea dress. Soho Mode makes all sorts of colors and designs from vintage cotton with the kind of silhouette that can only be described as “charming”. I saw someone suggest that these would make great mismatched bridesmaids dresses, and I have to agree! If nothing else, it would be great for a summer lawn party.
3. I love mid-century everything, so these paintings by Leah Giberson are right up my alley. She takes pictures of suburban landscapes, often focusing on the overlooked angle or element, and distills them into wonderful paintings full of depth and texture and intrigue.
4. Who doesn’t love stripes? I know that I do. This bag by Banyan Hippo hits all of the right nautical notes. It’s big and roomy and you could cart around just about anything. The seller suggests diaper bag as a possible scenario and I say, why not? You could be the hippest mom on the block. Me, I’d use it for a beach bag.
5. I just purchased a little pouch from Oktak and I was blown away by the quality and craftsmanship. I can see why she’s so popular! Next for me is going to be one of these little adorable frame pouches. She always comes up with the best fabrics and colors, and her designs come in enough sizes and shapes to satisfy any need.
Thanks to this weeks sellers for their awesome product!
